Finalising the static line routing behind the instrument panel. I dediced to use an elbow safeair static kit piece hanging from a panel rib. This elbow connects with a #6 screw so I needed a way to attach that without interfering with the static line itself. I decided to make a small bracket that will be rivetted to the the panel rib and positions the elbow right where it is in straight line with the HSI indicator.
Part ready for priming looks like:
The static line runs from behind towards the front under the longeron and canopy decks. It passes F704 and then arrives behind the panel at F-721A-L FWD canopy deck. On this FWD canopy deck I had attacked a small stock angle that holds a T-connector from the safeair kit. My only problem so far had been connecting the head of the Trig transponder plumbing to the harde nylon tube of the static air kit. Seems the solution was super simple. By using a bit of soap, I could slide the flexible rubber hose of the transponder tubing over the nylon tube and once dried, it sticks there like you will never be able to remove it again. I used two extra clamps at the transponder head and the connection to secure the connection. The rubber has an overlap over the nylong tube of about 1 inch.
It's visible in the image below as the black hose running forward from the T connector. There is actually a which nylon tube inserted in the T piece but the rubber is pulled all over it up to the connection.
The image below shows the short section connecting the static input from the HSI toward the altimeter port below. In the front with the orange clip is the pitot static line.
Behind it is a T section that screws into the HSI and leads a short section of static tube downwards to an elbow piece screwed into the altimeter static port.
As seen from the top, you see here the elbow that fits under the panel rib and has a very short section of static to connect into the static port of the HSI. The earlier made clip is not installed here yet. The two unrivetted holes in the image is where the bracket sill attach.
The static line runs from the T piece on the DWF canopy deck up and inwards via an adel clamp mounted on the bottom of the F-7107-L FWD fuselage rib and connects directly into the elbow mounted on the bracket at F-7108-A FWD fuselage rib.
Seen from the passenger side behind the F-7108-A rib, you can now see the bracket rivetted on the bottom flange and the elbow connector screwed on the bracket and the line installed in place.
