01/02/2025 - Resoldered annunciator wire - 1h00

The resistor I used for the starter annunciator wire I used in last session was bought from an electronics store as a 1K ohm resistor but I wasn't exactly sure about the 1 watt value. I'm not an electronic geek and I have no idea how to tell a resistor supports 1 watt. I also couldn't find a way to measure or determine that with a volt meter so this 1 watt thing kept running through my head. When I looked into the VPX install kit, I found out that they actually supply 2 resistors and some diodes in the install kit of the VPX, one of them being the starter annunciator resistor.

So decided to do some rework on that, cut off the one I did yesterday and redid the soldering with the resistor that was in the VPX install kit. AT least I have some piece of mind that this is then the correct piece of hardware. All I lost was a resistor and a ring terminal so no big deal. Just some additional time.

Soldered it in place .

2nd leg installed ready for soldering

Soldered and ready for isopropyl alcohol cleaning.

And installed the heatstrink tubing over it and crimped the ring terminal. 1 hour worth the extra piece of mind.
