No bird ever flew nonstop from New York to Tokyo, or raced 15 miles high at triple the speed of sound.
  But birds do something else.
They do not conquer the air; they romance it.

Perparing it

The workshop needs a new ceiling covering. Until today it only existed out of paper covered isolation.
I spent the whole sunday removing the nails that kept the isolation up. Very boring and tiring job. Result 3 blisters. The old owner really wanted to make sure it never came of anymore.
The garage is quite high so it's all the time : ladder up ladder down...

Well, it's removed now and I already put 8 wooden support for the new ceiling. I hope to do some more this week.

The work on the ceiling of the workshop is completed. As you can see in the before picture, it was a mess.

After a week, finally looked  like in the picture. This will reduce dust falling later on.  Since the ceiling is now white, the whole garage is much brighter. Installed 2 long daylight lamps.

The workshop table has been completed today.

I have now a double table, 90cm wide and totally 4m15 long. I'm pretty pleased with the size. The right part will be dedicated to the machines (bench grinder, band saw, bench drill,...)

As you can see on the picture from the right, I already have some of the required equipment. A bandsaw and band grinder are new. I already had the bench drill.

I also installed some shelves on top of the table to store vise/screw/rivet cabinets. Also and extra day light just over the table and a set of power supplies on the wall where the machines are.

The child in the picture is not a mandatory part of a workshop :). One of my kids just couldn't resist testing the strength of the shelves.

Built a first worktable according to the tech plans as given in the EAA chapter forums.

You can find the plans here.)

The first table is completed. The size is 2m44cm and 90 cm high.

A second one will be added soon and will be 1m74 in size to fill the complete length of the garage wall.

The first one (this ) will be used as worktable, the second one to station all the electric tools.

Finally got to the point of moving the big parts to my new home.

Pretty excited about it as it means i'll finally be able to continue building with all parts around me.

Fortunately, my fuselage just came apart again so all could be moved with a small trailer. However, it was pretty close to get the wings in. My friend and co builder Hugo gave me a hand moving all these delicate parts. Thanks again mate !

The open garage in the next picture gives you a good idea of the compact space of the 1 car garage I was working in so far.

How to use

Use the kit buttons in the top ribbon bar to see a chronological overview per sub section per kit. For the full chronological article list, see chronological build link in prelude menu here below. The easiest way to lookup information is by typing in some part numbers or keywords using the search option in the ribbon bar
