02/06/2020 - bending fuel line - 4h

While the wings are attached to the fuselage, it's a good moment to make the fuel and vent line connections from the fuselage side skin and the wing pickup point on the fuel tank.

I soon found out that this small task actually will turn into a nightmare.

I have installed Andair gascolators on the fuselage side skin and my entry point of the gascolator on the fuselage in relation to the pass through hole in the fuel tank attach bracket is just too short.
I tried several times bending and tweaking but can't make a satisfactory result.

The bending tool is just too wide. The first bend is ok, but the next bend is so close to the first that the hook which blocks the pipe is to far off and deforms the material.

In the end I was able to create one that looked ok but after some heat by the sun and cooling down again I found out the flange was cracked by the tension on the material. No good !!

I'll have to come up with another solution for this fuel attach point.
I have two options here. Use a 180° elbow on the entry point of the gascolator and come back around from the back or make the whole tube using a 180° back turn to come back to the front.

Here you can see the vent line. That worked find and looks good. Same for the other tank
