21/01/2023 - Pedal extentions and inspection deck rivetting - 5h

I'm having some initial thoughts on the instrument panel layout and was playing around with paper cut outs for some initial ideas on how I would like the layout to be. I will be installing the Dynon Skyview EFIS with some backup instruments.

Also quickly installed some pedal extentions which just bolt on to the bottom side of the pedal on the welded brace. They provide a better foot support.

Next I installed the nutplates on the inspection hole option which is in the top forward firewall just forward of the firewall plate.

Top side

Both rings rivetted in place on the top fuselage skin

Same view from the top side. Two cover plates screw into place on these openings and allow for easy access to the forward side of the instrument panel.
They will be sealed later on but I'll worry about that when doing the final installation of the covers when the forward top fuselage is finally rivetted oni place.
