Priming - 26/03/2011 - 4h

It's been that time of the month again... time to prime...

The zinc chromate is scaring the sh*t out of me. It's extremly poisonous.

Therefor I decided to get a new respiratory protection piece with changeable filters of higher quality.
The full face mask from 3M with class 2 filter is real good quality. Before with the smaller version, I sometimes had the impression I could smell the solvents. With this one, I worked for 2 hours in the spray booth and didn't smell anything at all.

Other side of the medal, It costs about 165 euros (mask+filters). But, no savings on heatlh protection...

Here is how it looks like :)

My friend and fellow builders once said... building a plane, you first think it's about construction, no it isn't, it's like cooking.

The amount of times you have to mix fluids, measure and stir them are countless.

I finally found a better way to setup my spray paint gun and got again much better results then last time.

The only remark I have now is that there is a bit of roughness on the surface. It's primarily due to the spray being to dry and almost becoming powder.
But it is in acceptable form and next time I'll pay attention that I make my spray a little richer.

The good thing is that the layer is real thin this time and almost transparant, which is a good thing. Just some of the parts:
