28/12/2022 - Fitting wheels on gear legs - 4h

Worked on the brake caliper spacing from the U810 gear wheelcap support bracket.

As my parts are now primed, I first installed the nutplates on the parking brake mount bracket so that it's now ready for rivetting to the firewall.

Started with test fitting the brake caliper and brake housing on the U403 brake flange.

This is very very confusing and the drawing on DWG C-2 is very unclear. I had to lookup pictures on other builders websites in order to find the correct order and orientation of the parts.
It looks very logical once it's on the landing gear leg with the wheel on but it's very abstract if you have only the U403 in your hand.
A good tip is to mark up, front and rear to the U403  brake flange while it's on the gear leg. The image below show the correct orientation and order of parts.

When putting the other side on, you notice that you have to make a clearence in the U810 bracket to clear the moving part of the brake caliper.
I simply did this with a round key file.

Below is a close up shot.

Another detailed picture of the clearence.
