11/08/2018- Second cut out in baggage floors - ?

Made the second cut out in the pilot side baggage floor. This one is a bit larger than the ELT one on the right side.

The idea of this compartment is to be able to fit an oil can and some tools in so that they can be locked away when doing aerobatics. The oil bottle fits in perfectly between the inboard floor ribs.

You can see the dimensions on the little cardboard in inches. Drawn the dimension same distance from front and inboard as the other one.

Cut out and drilled the plate to the lit. Big was my surprise to see that I had missdrilled outboard side #19 holes. I made the correct markings on the line to center my drill as you can see but I drilled the middle spot which I shouldn't have.

Another example of trying to go too fast.

Not a big deal, I just repeated the hole on the left side so that it's mirrored. So I have an extra screw on this side and an extra nutplate. So I have some ounces extra but that's all.

 All done, both lits on.

And both lits removed. This is how it looks like.
