As next step on installing the wheel fairings, I decided to updril #28 for the #6 screws. Then drilled the nutplate ears.
Nothing too spectacular about that, by now, we are all very familiar on how to install nutplates. Countersunk the nutplate ears.
Then used the pneumatic squeezer to install the K1000-06 nutplates.
I did bend the nutplate ears slightly on the more curved sides across the top. Just slightly because otherwise the drilled holes will missalign.
For these it would have been better to use the curved nutplate as template for drilling the nutplate ear holes insteadn of the #6 drill jig but I managed to get them in ok.
Also marked a 1 inch offset line on the inside . This aligns with the step in the epoxy. This line will be used for vertical alignment of the U-808 bracket.
All good for now. Next I need to get the airplane of the ground before I can install the pants on the gear leg.
