12/11/2019 - static line connection - 1H

Not to much done today, went into the back and had a closer look at the T-point connection that joins the left and right static port. The static port measures the current barometric static pressure and is used by various instruments to measure speed and altitude.

I purchased the safe air static kit which contains these funky quick release fittings. You press the colar down and the plastic tube released easily without damage to the tube. So you can release and reinstall as much as you want without worrying about damaging the end and creating air leaks.
Here 's how it looks after installing the remaining short section to the pilot side static port and inserting the tube that moves it all to the front of the plane.
