25/01/2019 - Drill canopy deck - 4H

Started the day by sanding parts or the top fuselage and preparing them for matchdrilling.

And then finally some fun time. Mounted the F-721A-R forward canopy decks and drilled them to the longerons. First clecoed the decks to the outboard sub  panels, and clamped the foward tab of the decks to the tab on the F-721B-R aft canopy decks which were rivetted earlier to the longerons.

Then drill one by one and cleco as you go. The side of the canopy deck may overhang the side skin a bit but don't worry too much about that.

Also drilled the two holes connecting forward and aft canopy deck.

Now carefully phile away the excess material on the side that overhangs the side skin. Little bit at a time until the side of the forward canopy deck is parallel to the side skin.
Edge deburred the side again and sanded.
