Finish Firewall Rivetting - 17/05/2013

Continued rivetting the firewall together and took these pictures as I completed it.

As usual I had to take the longer rivet length and cut them a bit to get acceptable length compared to what was called for on the plans.

This is the view from the cockpit side to the front. You can see the four steel mounts in the corners rivetted to the firewall.

A view on the bottom right.

View on the upper right engine mount. This is the place where the main longeron will connect.

Rivetting the F601-J angle was quite challenging. The 4 rivets near the bend are quite difficult to set and set partly in the bend. There is no other way to do this and they look ok.

Shot of the firewall from front to back. All rivets are nice and flush with the firewall plate.

Next step will be rivetting the rear bulkheads.
