Before starting on the real thing, I decided to start this plane building project with the recommended training project from Vans. Having no experience what so ever with aluminum working, rivetting or any other technique that goes beyond drilling two holes in a wall to hang a picture, I thought this would be a better idea then just starting to ruin the real pieces.

In this section, I'll be posting my progress, findings and lessons learned from the training project 'control surface'. Vans offers this project for new builders to get experience in handling the real material with similar thicknesses, materials, rivets and vises you will be using on the real thing.
