Cutting stiffeners - 11/09/2012 - 2h

As the wings are near completion, and I'm waiting on a replacement part of Van's, I decided to take a first look at the ailerons.

The stiffeners on the ailerons have to be constructed in the same way as the stiffeners on the elevators.

The cutting process here is much simpler. All the stiffeners have the same size so basically, you just have to cut the bundle at the right spots and start drawing the places where the slope has to be made.

Notice the round notches on the long bars, that's where you cut. 4 out of each bar

4 times 8 bars makes 32 stiffeners... oh boy, this is gone be another half day gone just cutting the edges and deburring them smooth.
