Since I'm still recovering from the hip surgery, it's not possible to work for long periods of times. But since all I have to do is lay down on my back in the fuselage, it's quite ok to do already some work.
Here are some shots of how that looks. It's pretty small in there, especially towards the back. I can only guess how bad this must be in an RV-8.
As you can see, I installed a cut board into the fuselage. It's supported by some styrofoam blocks so that the board doesn't lay only on the bulkhead flanges.
I tried to distribute my weight as good as possible underneath. I also build a support for underneath the plane that carries the weight.
