No bird ever flew nonstop from New York to Tokyo, or raced 15 miles high at triple the speed of sound.
  But birds do something else.
They do not conquer the air; they romance it.

Some decisions in life are bare of any obvious logic

Some things are easier to do them now then later. One of those is installing 6 bolts on each side which are only used on the RV-7A for the connection of the landing gear to the F704 bulkhead.
Since I'm building an RV-7, these holes are just bolted with AN3 bolts.

I took the F704 bulkhead appart for the very last time and verified the already installed bolts and checked the torque to be 25inch/lbs and sealed them with torque seal.

I also installed the control mount brackets on the aft side of the F-704. They might get in the way for the bottom rivet but I prefer the correct torque value on these (which is hard to do once both halves are back together).
Worst case, I'll put a pop rivet in those rivets if it gives me too much headaches.

On the front half of the F-704, here are the six bolt that are easier to install now then later. You can also see them on plan DWG34 detail fuselage gusset.

These are AN4 bolts with AN 365-428 nuts so you torque them to 50-70 inch/lbs. Al set and checked at 70 and applied seal.

Finally, before putting it back together, I noticed the following on my pre-build aft F-704.

A rivet seems to be missing at the location of the arrow. Since I don't have that length and size rivet and because they are heavier and more difficult to set, I will use an AN3 bolt for them.

Now the F704 can go together again for the last time.

Rivetting is next.

How to use

Use the kit buttons in the top ribbon bar to see a chronological overview per sub section per kit. For the full chronological article list, see chronological build link in prelude menu here below. The easiest way to lookup information is by typing in some part numbers or keywords using the search option in the ribbon bar
