Some more finialisation work on prepping the F706 bulkhead for priming.
Dimpling the F705-K seat back supports and countersinking the F705-L shims. I'm surprised that you need to countersink pretty deep for te K parts to fit in nicely.
Then locating the bushing holes next to the elevator rod opening according to the dimensions as in detail A. First used small drill to center the hole.
Then using the step drill to open up to 5/8"
Marking the drill positions on the F661EF flap bearing blocks. Had to look carefully for these. I didn't find them in my inventory first. They were hidden in the hardware bag delivered with the flap motor.
The idea here is to drill the first hole through this block by measurement, the second one is matchdrilled using the piece. Some long AN3 bolts will hold these into position. At a later stage, the flap actuator will rest in these blocks and pivot within.
Drilling this plastic / nylon stuff is no fun. I set my bench drill to the slowest possible speed. Then drilled up starting with small diameter. You finally have to go to #11 before you get the AN3 bolt in. It fits really snug with #11. The manual says you can use #10 as well but I keep my #11 drill as I can get the bolt through.
Second hole is drilled on the bench drill again with the bulkhead side channel as drill guide.
This is how it looks with the bolts in place.
I have to do the same for the other side but my messed up F705-DL is still on backorder.
